Rain chances up for the next couple of days here in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. For today we have already seen showers sliding through north-central parts of Indiana and are expecting to see a cluster of showers slide through Central Indiana from 11a to 3p today. While we cannot rule out a couple of claps of thunder, overall severe weather is not anticipated.
Highs today will return to the 80s as a weak warm front slides through today. This warmer air will be in place through Friday night with a chance of rain through this period. The GFS is forecasting 1.32 inches of rain overall from right now through Saturday morning. That seems probably a tad bit high for me, but I could see us seeing an area wide average of three quarters of an inch to a full inch through Saturday morning. If you see any rain today or tomorrow it will likely be in the way of rain showers with storms possible on Friday. Storms will be especially possibly late Friday and Saturday morning as the cool front slides through state. Behind the front temperatures will be cooler with weekend highs forecast to be in the mid-70s with dry conditions.
