Significant progress is being made at the Fox59 Habitat House!

Last week, we kicked off the build in our parking lot and Wednesday, those walls were set up on the actual site.

Future homeowners Cleo and Kara Allen and dozens of volunteers started the day bright and early at 7:30 a.m. Members of the east 91st Street Church also helped out with construction.

“I see a whole lot of work ahead. It`s all fun. We`re all having fun out here and really enjoying this,” said Cleo Allen.

Volunteers are getting ready to set up walls for the second story of the house.

You can still volunteer to help:

The Allens, like all Habitat for Humanity families, have submitted to a rigorous application process, taken home ownership courses and paid a down payment to qualify. They’re also spending hundreds of hours putting in ‘sweat’ equity. The Allens will be responsible for the home’s mortgage and upkeep after their home is finished. You can learn how to qualify at Habitat for Humanity’s website:
