The Fighting Irish’s (3-1) victory over the Spartans (3-1) on Saturday afternoon wasn’t pretty, but Notre Dame’s defense stepped up again when it mattered most to get the job done. Tommy Rees finished with 142 yards on 14-34 passing with a touchdown, while Cam McDaniel had a seven-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

Ball State 51, Eastern Michigan 20

The Cardinals (3-1) bounced back from last week’s disappointment to North Texas with a vengeance, scoring 27 points in the first quarter alone en route to a huge victory in Ypsilanti. Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns, while Jahwan Edwards rushed for 81 yards and three trips to the end zone.

Wisconsin 41, Purdue 10

The Boilermakers had a forgettable game on Saturday afternoon, allowing the Badgers to go on a 27-0 run from the second quarter on. Rob Henry completed 18 of 36 passes, 135 yards, and one interception on the day. However, Henry did run in the team’s lone touchdown from 22-yards out.

Missouri 45, Indiana 28

The Hoosiers (2-2) had a rough time at home on Saturday night, having tied the game 14-14 on a Tevin Coleman rushing touchdown with 6:31 left in the second quarter, but allowing the Tigers to run away with the game after that.

Dartmouth 30, Butler 23

The Bulldogs had quite the day in the air on Saturday, as quarterback Matt Lancaster threw for 42-68 for 395 yards. However, Dartmouth was too much to handle as the Big Green pulled away with the victory.
