Pedestrian fatally struck on 465

Indiana State Police confirm that a pedestrian died after being struck in the southbound lanes of 465, just north of 38th street on the west side.

A woman crossed the northbound lanes of 465 and then crawled over the concrete median and was crossing the southbound lanes when she was struck by a pickup truck, just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.

State Police had all lanes of traffic shut down for nearly two and a half hours, rerouting traffic onto 38th St.

Police are investigating the crash and are not releasing the identification of the woman at this time.
