INDIANAPOLIS – It wasn’t spelled out as such in a team release, but it appears that Paul George will be a Pacers player for a few more years.

Late Tuesday afternoon the Pacers announced a major news conference for the entry pavilion at Bankers Life Fieldhouse for 11 A.M. Wednesday where Fox 59 has confirmed it will be to announce a contract extension for forward Paul George.

The extension has been rumored for a few weeks and Yahoo! Sports reported on Sunday that the deal will be five-years and worth 90 million dollars.

In his three years in Indianapolis, George has emerged as the start in a new era of the Pacers. Taken 10th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft, George averaged 17.4 points per game in his first season as a full time starter for the Pacers and averaged two points more in the team’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
