Identity released of armed home invasion suspect shot by Plainfield police

PLAINFIELD, Ind.—The man fatally shot after officers responded to a home invasion robbery in Plainfield Tuesday night has been identified.

The Plainfield Police Department said officers shot Eric William Allen Poore, 27, in fear of their safety. Poore was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Officers responded to a house in the 200 block of Andrews Boulevard, inside the Courtyards at White Lick neighborhood, after a robbery was reported. When they arrived, they located Poore, who was armed, in the residence.

Police apprehended a second suspect, Justin Pearson, in the house. Pearson is being charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of criminal confinement. A charge for firearm enhancement has also been filed. He is currently booked in the Hendricks County Jail.
