Fishers man killed in 5-vehicle accident on NB I-69

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– A Fishers man has died following an accident on northbound Interstate 69 Monday.

The five-car accident happened near 96th Street just after 4 p.m.

Police say 38-year-old Michael Peed was stopped in traffic, waiting to exit to 116th Street when another driver crashed into the back of Peed’s car. The force of the crash, pushed Peed’s vehicle into another car. Peed veered and was hit by a semi-tractor trailer.

Peed was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people suffered non-life threatening injuries.

All lanes were closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The lanes reopened just before 9 p.m.

The accident remains under investigation.
