INDIANAPOLIS – A missing dog was reunited with his owner thanks to technology and a little fate.

Bobby the boxer went missing on Christmas Eve. His owner, Johnny Bee, started giving up hope that he would see his dog again.

Everything changed when Bee received a phone call from Indianapolis Animal Care and Control. Someone reported a stray dog to the center. When an officer went out to pick the dog up, they realized it had a microchip. Staff members contacted Bee, who quickly rushed over to the shelter to pick up his beloved pet.

“Oh, I’m the happiest man in Indianapolis,” Bee said.

Animal Care and Control offers microchips for $10. The procedure only takes a few minutes, but it could make all the difference.
