INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A firefighter was slightly injured at a 2-story residence fire on the city’s near east side Friday morning.

IFD responded to the 1100 block of Spann Av at 3 a.m.

A couple lived at the house, and made it out safely.

It took 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

In the process, a firefighter rolled his ankle trying to exit the house.

Earlier in the day the couple was having electrical problems, and investigators are looking into that as a possible cause.
