IFD battles 3 fires within the span of 1 hour

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IFD was called to three separate fires within the span of one hour Friday morning.

The first fire broke out at 3 a.m. on the city’s near east side in the 1100 block of Spann Av.

According to the PIO, the couple that lived in the home had electrical problems the day before.

A firefighter slightly injured his ankle while trying to exit the house, but he is fine.

The second fire broke out at 3:53 a.m. on the city’s east side in the 3500 block of N Audubon Rd.

This was a detached garage fire; the garage was a total loss, and the fire also did some damage to the siding on the house next to it.

Crews responded to the third fire of the morning at 4:00 a.m.

This fire was on the city’s near east side at the intersection of Shelby St and Pleasant Run Parkway.

It is a vacant house, and investigators are looking into arson as the possible cause.
