Man shot, critically wounded at Quality Inn & Suites

INDIANAPOLIS, Ins. – A man was shot at the Quality Inn & Suites parking lot on the city’s northwest side.

The shooting occurred in the 5000 block of Lafayette Road, near the I-65 exit, around 5:45 a.m.

Police said the victim was rushed to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to serious condition. Homicide detectives and Marion County Deputy Prosecutor Denise Robinson responded to the scene.

No suspects are in custody at this point in time, but several witnesses were brought in for questioning. Police said investigators looked at surveillance footage and they are confident they know who they are looking for.

No information was released about any of the people involved, except that the victim is an adult white male.

IMPD spokesman Kendale Adams also said several rounds were fired, leaving evidence throughout the hotel parking lot.

The victim was initially listed in critical condition, but his condition was later upgraded to serious.
