Fire destroys vacant Ritter Inn

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A fire destroyed the Ritter Inn early Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to the scene of the vacant tavern on the city’s east side around 2:05 a.m.

There was a “For Sale” sign on the building’s facade and firefighters said it was empty at the time of the fire. The Indianapolis Fire Department said it is trying to get in touch with the building’s owner.

No injuries are being reported at this time.

Investigators are trying to determine a cause. Continue to check back for updates.
