GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (October 27, 2013) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred in Gibson County on Saturday evening near Hazleton.

When rescue crews arrived on scene, they found Steve Hale of Owensville had been operating an ATV on private property and lost control of the vehicle, ejecting him.

He was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville where he was treated for internal injuries and head injuries.

Officers say alcohol may have been a factor in the cause of the accident.

Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage the use of protective gear such as helmets, gloves and protective clothing while operating off-road vehicles.
