Lafayette man holds woman at gunpoint

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (October 27, 2013) – Around 9:40 Sunday morning, the Lafayette Police Department was called to the Fowler Apartments in the 400 block of Ferry Street for a domestic dispute.

Officers were told a woman was being held at gunpoint by a man who was armed with multiple guns.

When officers arrived and secured the scene, they found the victim, 59-year-old Diana Edwards unhurt.

Officers held a perimeter around the couple’s apartment and attempted to make contact with the suspect, identified as 63-year-old Quay Edwards.

The Lafayette SWAT Team was called to the scene and the suspect surrendered to police just before 1:30 Saturday afternoon.

Quay Edwards was arrested and charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement and domestic battery.
