INDIANAPOLIS (October 30, 2013) – A family gathered Wednesday to remember a teenager killed a year ago.

Dozens came together at Bolton Park in honor of 14-year-old Nick King. He was shot after a friend tried to scare him by pointing a gun at him. The other teen accidentally pulled the trigger, hitting King in the neck.

“Nick was a caring person and it obviously shows with the number of people that have come out that he still had an impact on people’s lives and that’s a nice thing to see from a father’s point of view,” said Max King, Nick’s father.

Kevin Edwards, 18, and his 15-year-old stepbrother were charged in King’s death. They said they didn’t realize the gun was loaded.
