Police: Person shot on southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS – A person was shot in the chest on the southeast side Wednesday night, dispatchers say.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Rural.

The male victim drove himself to the Village Pantry in the 2300 block of East Raymond Street. He went to Wishard after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, including at least one to the chest. He was listed in serious condition.

A shooting suspect was also seen leaving in a white vehicle. Detectives are canvassing the area for any potential witnesses and processing evidence from the scene.
