INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Heavy winds caused problems for crews fighting a duplex fire on the city’s south side.

IFD was called to the 2800 block of E. Midland Road around 2 a.m. Friday morning.

The fire stayed on one side of the duplex, and fortunately that side was unoccupied.

A neighbor walking her dog saw the fire and alerted the woman living on the other side of the duplex.

Heavy winds cause problems for firefighters at first, but they were able to put it out after an hour.

Midland Rd is completely blocked off until further notice.
