New Jersey mall on lockdown after reports of shots fired

PARAMUS, New Jersey (PIX11) – Stores are on lockdown at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey, after at least one gunman opened fire Monday night, according to our sister station WPIX.

According to a police source, the shooting began near the Nordstrom department store on the second level of the mall.  At least eight shots have been fired; the gunman is believed to be wearing body armor. Police and SWAT teams from surrounding areas, along with state police, are en route to the scene.
