One killed following triple shooting on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 4, 2013) – One person died following a triple shooting on the east side of Indianapolis Monday evening.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of N. Denny St. just before 6 p.m. Police said a female victim was found dead at the scene. A second person was found inside a nearby home and rushed to Wishard Hospital. A third person had been driven to Community East Hospital after suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The third victim was in good condition, according to investigators.

The identity of the woman killed in the shooting is being withheld pending notification of her family. An autopsy is likely to come Tuesday morning.

Police said no suspect was in custody and are working to develop a description of the shooter. Investigators have begun to canvass the area and work with the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency to process the crime scene.
