INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 4, 2013) – Rolls-Royce officially opened its twelfth and most advanced plant on Indianapolis’ south side Monday.
Workers will make parts for some of the world’s most sophisticated military and commercial jet engines.
Rolls-Royce invested about $42 million in the plant and will hire about 100 workers when the equipment goes online.
“This plant is about more than just jobs and our community,” said Rep. Andre Carson, D-Indianapolis. “It’s about our national security and economic growth.”
Rolls-Royce is one of the area’s largest employers, putting about 4,000 people to work.
