EAST SIDE – A triple shooting that left one woman dead on the East side has sparked renewed calls for peace across the city.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Monday on Denny Street. A woman died on the scene and another person was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police also reported a third shooting victim who was driven to the hospital before officers arrived.

Reverend Charles Harrison and his Ten Point Coalition team arrived on the scene shortly after the shooting, quickly collecting information.

“It could be a number of things that led to this here,” Harrison said.

The triple shooting is the latest in a long list of shootings this year. By mid-October, IMPD reported 91 homicides for the year. That’s up 23 percent over the same period in 2012.

“As a city, we just have to send a message that that is not acceptable. You cannot use this kind of deadly violence to resolve conflicts,” Harrison said.

Fox 59 has learned that police are looking for a suspect who is also wanted in connection with another murder.

Harrison and police urged anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 262-TIPS.
