INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating a home invasion on the south side.

According to investigators, officers were called to the 1000 block of East Edwards Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

IMPD said someone knocked on the door. When a woman answered, a man hit her in the face, tied her up and took some jewelry before leaving.

The victim was in her 60s, police said. There was no forced entry into the home and investigators are following up on several “strong” leads, according to IMPD.
