INDIANAPOLIS (November 15, 2013) – An Indianapolis man carjacked a woman and also robbed a 13-year-old boy, threatening to kill each of them in the process, according to police.

Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived Thursday morning in the 4400 block of Madison Avenue in response to a report of a carjacking. They found a woman’s car had been taken at gunpoint. The woman said she saw the man getting into her car as she left her home.

“Don’t even try it…I’ll kill you,” he said before driving off. Police found the vehicle and took the man into custody. They identified him as 20-year-old Jerry Metcalf.

Detectives said Metcalf was involved in another crime earlier that day in which he threatened to kill a 13-year-old boy while taking his MP3 player at a bus stop. They also said he was involved in another carjacking.

Metcalf was charged with robbery, carjacking and auto theft. He’s being held in the Marion County Jail. An initial hearing is set for Monday, Nov. 18.
