Cathedral scored three touchdowns in the 1st quarter and never looked back to beat Terre Haute North 42-20 in 5A Semi-State. The win puts the Fighting Irish in the State Championship game for the fourth straight year.

“This is a year long process to get back to where we were. It’s pretty awesome, ” said Head Coach Rick Streiff.

“I love my team and everybody did a great job. The lineman, coaches we prepared all week and we are ready to get another one,” added junior running back Caleb Cross.

Cross played a big factor in the victory, he rushed for four touchdowns and two of them were runs of 50 yards or more. The running back though is quick to not take all the credit he made sure to thank those blocking for him up front.

“Mostly the lineman my fullback did a great job. Again the opine did a great job,”

Cathedral will play Westfield for the 5A State Championship next Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium, the game kicks off at 7 p.m.
