Driver killed after truck spins, crashes into pole on southwest side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 22, 2013) – IMPD is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Thursday evening on the city’s near southwest side.

Wayne Twp Firefighter were called to the 2600 block of West Minnesota St around 9 p.m. for an auto accident with entrapment.

The driver was unconscious when crews arrived. It took rescuers about 15 minuted to cut the man from the vehicle.

He was transported to Wishard in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

A witness to the accident stated that he saw the truck going west on Minnesota Street before spinning in circles and sliding off the road and hitting a utility pole.

It is believed that the driver was involved in another accident also on West Minnesota right before the fatal crash.
