FISHERS, Ind. (Nov. 25, 2013)— One person dead, one injured after fatal crash in Fishers early Sunday morning.

The Hamilton County Dispatch Center received a 911 call about a serious motor vehicle crash on I-69 in Fishers Sunday.

Upon their arrival Fishers police officers observed the crash involved a Ford occupied by driver Hannah E. Fernung, 21, and passenger Jose M. Victoriano-Garcia, 21.

Fernung was pronounced deceased at the scene. Paramedics, with the Fishers Fire Department, transported Victoriano-Garcia to Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

According to witnesses the Ford was traveling northbound on Interstate 69. It appears the driver lost control and the car left the roadway. The Ford flipped and struck a tree on the east side of the interstate.

Officers collected evidence and will reconstruct the crash. The northbound lanes of Interstate 69, between 96th Street and 116th Street, were closed for three hours while officers conducted their investigation. Indiana State Police Troopers assisted with the on-scene investigation.
