More shoppers choosing online holiday deals

INDIANAPOLIS – With less than 30 days until Christmas, the shopping season starts for many Hoosiers on Thanksgiving as many stores will open on Thursday this year. However, not everyone will head brace the cold weather to buy those gifts.

A new poll finds 56% of Americans will stay home on Black Friday, many choosing to shop online instead.

“We are multichannel shoppers today and even when people don’t go out they can be shopping,” said Tod Marks with Consumer Reports.

Fox 59 dug through the deals to give you a sample of some of the best sales on the world-wide web.

Tech gifts are always popular and starting Thanksgiving morning, Wal-Mart is offering certain online-only deals like $75 off an iPad. You can also buy a brand new Samsung 40 inch HD TV for #379; a discount of $50.

At, there are dozens of tips on deals. Briana tells her visitors to try where there’s a sweet deal on Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones. Usually priced at almost $200, you can buy them for as low as $115 when you use your Target REDCard. She says that’s better than the Groupon deal out there right now.

And she also adds is offering select Black & Decker items you can score for free after rebates, Kohl’s cash, and a coupon code.

Shoppers should keep checking in on those sales as some items are already selling out.
