Morgan County inmates caught trying to escape, dug hole in cell wall

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (November 29, 2013) – Three Morgan County inmates were caught trying to escape Sunday.

Officers heard banging coming from the cell of  Austin Byers (19), Tyler Cassidy (22), and Ricky Croney (23) early in the morning.

They investigated the noise and discovered a hole in the cell wall about six inches in diameter and a few inches deep.

The inmates are now all being charged with attempted escape, possession of a dangerous device, and criminal mischief.

It will cost about $700 to repair the hole.
