IMPD investigates two fatal shootings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 3, 2013) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating two fatal shootings in the city Monday night.

The first shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the 6200 block of Commodore Dr., near the Arlington Ave. and E. 21st St. intersection on the city’s east side.

One male victim was confirmed dead.

Police believe the shooting was part of a robbery.

IMPD arrived at a second shooting around 10:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Baltimore Ave. on the city’s northeast side.

Officers in the area heard gunshots fired, and as they were looking for the source they received a 911 call about a person shot in a car.

Police found a male with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later identified him as 36-year-old Antwan Germany of Indianapolis.

Investigators said someone opened fire on Germany’s car in the 3500 block of N. Keystone Ave. The vehicle continued going west on 36th Street before hitting a fence on North Hillside, a sign for an apartment complex and, finally, the IPL power box on Baltimore Avenue.
