INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Big Ten Championship game is only days away but as the game approaches ticket prices are going up. Tickets are currently selling for two or three times face value, depending on the seats.

Ticket brokers say this is the most they’ve seen the championship tickets go for since the game came to Indy. They are crediting the matchup between the Michigan State Spartans and Ohio State Buckeyes for driving up prices.

“This is easily the biggest ticket its been in the short time the big 10 championship has been played,” said Mike Peduto with Circle City Tickets.

Local alumni associations for both schools are excited for the game. Brian Modiano is with the Ohio State Alumni Club of Greater Indianapolis. He had big hopes for the team so bought his ticket back in July.

“It’s definitely going to be a hot ticket and I think this is great for the Big 10 as well having two top notch teams with a lot on the line. I think it’s great for the Big 10 as well,” said Modiano.

Paul Quirke is with the Michigan State Alumni chapter, called the Indy Spartans. He said a lot of people are still trying to get a seat for the game.

“There has been a lot of interest in tickets and I know that there are quite a few Indy Spartans that don’t have tickets that are still looking for tickets so it’s a hard ticket to get,” said Quirke.
