Central Indiana is looking at a mix of wintry weather starting Thursday evening and this has led to the National Weather Service issuing a Winter Storm Watch for portions of the state.  This is basically from I-70 and to the south.

This includes the following counties: Bartholomew, Brown, Clay, Daviess, Decatur, Greene, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Owen, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Vigo

FOX_FuturecastCentral Indiana will start to see a mix of sleet and snow on Thursday evening as our first wave of moisture passes through the state.  This is going to cause issues on the roads because this sleet could easily be heavy across the city.

But after midnight, mixed precipitation will start shifting further South and Southeast before the entire state is seeing snowfall.  1-2″ of snow could easily be on the ground by the time we head to work and school Friday morning.  Travel will be impacted by this system so plan accordingly.

JEN1Snow will continue to fall on Friday resulting in heavier amounts of snow in the southern part of the state and lesser amounts as you travel to the north.  But here across the metro, 3-6″ of snow is possible.
