Man shot in leg during apparent robbery on east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 9, 2013) – A man was shot in the leg on the city’s east side Sunday night after an apparent robbery gone bad.

Crews were called to the 3700 block of North Bancroft St around 11:05 p.m. with reports of a person shot.

The victim told officers he was preparing to work on a truck in his driveway when a black male with a gun approached him.

A scuffle ensued, and the suspect fired a shot hitting the victim in the leg.

The suspect then stole the victim’s wallet and ID.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-29 years old, wearing a black skully cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants.
