BLOOMINGTON (Dec. 19, 2013) – Indiana University’s Assembly Hall will get a new name as it prepares for a new look.

The iconic venue will be renamed the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall after the school received a $40 million donation from Cindy Simon Skjodt, a 1980 IU graduate. It’s the largest athletic donation for the school and the fourth largest in school history.

The university released renderings of improvements to the facility a few weeks ago. The donation will pay for those upgrades and also allow the university to enhance its wrestling and volleyball facilities.
