INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— A SWAT incident at a northwest side apartment complex ended peacefully with the suspect surrendering Thursday afternoon.
Officers with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Stoneham Drive around 9:22 a.m. in response to a barricaded suspect. Police said Antwon Stott, who was wanted on multiple charges including aggravated assault, dealing in cocaine and a previous firearms offense, refused to exit the apartment despite negation attempts.
SWAT officers used chemical agents in order to force the suspect from the apartment. Police said Stott climbed into the attack and into an adjoining apartment unit, forcing his way inside where a man and his child lived. The man and his child were not injured in the incident.
After a brief verbal exchange with SWAT officers, Stott surrendered around 2:20 p.m.
Stott faces additional charges of residential entry and criminal confinement.
