Allen Co. jail officer attacked by inmate

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 26, 2013)– An Allen County jail officer is recovering tonight after an attack by an inmate.

It happened Wednesday morning. Police say an inmate knocked officer Quinton Greer to the ground, hitting him several times on the head with a closed fist.

Deadrian Boykins, currently behind bars for murder, was the inmate who attacked the officer.

He has now been charged with battery to a police officer.

Officer Greer, who has been an officer for three years, is listed in serious condition.
