Winter storm watch issued

A winter storm watch has now been issued for the area.  A winter storm watch is issued whenever the forecast calls for 6+ inches of snow.  The watch is for expected snow this Sunday and runs from 1 a.m. Sunday through 1 a.m. Monday. It will automatically switch over to a warning 24 hours before the start of the event.  We are calling for snowfall amounts in excess of 6 inches.  Brian Wilkes will have our first official snowfall forecast tonight at 4, 5 and 6.

Viewers are advised to take this watch/warning seriously and to make proper preparations.  If traveling, you should check road conditions before leaving your home. Travel should only be conducted if vital during heavy snow periods.
