Mom brings teen daughter To Riley with gunshot wound to head

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 11, 2014) — IMPD says a teen girl was shot in the head on the east side, Saturday morning and another teen was also shot, in a separate act of violence.

The first teen’s mother brought the 15 or 16-year-old girl into Riley Hospital for Children at 6 a.m., suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers then went to the scene of the shooting, the mother and daughter’s home, in the 500 block of North Tacoma Avenue, near Washington Street.

Very little information was immediately available.

Police say the second teen, a 13-year-old was shot in a separate incident and was being transferred from Methodist Hospital To Riley Hospital for Children around 6:45 Saturday morning.

No word yet on either teen’s condition.
