INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 17, 2014) – A man involved in a fatal May hit-and-run crash entered a guilty plea Friday in connection with the case.

Corey Dunz, 20, was behind the wheel of a green BMW that hit David Heady, 47, on May 1 as he was crossing the street near East Morris and South Meridian streets. Heady ended up having part of his right leg amputated as a result of the crash. He returned to the hospital weeks later and died from a blood clot.

An anonymous tip led police to Dunz, who pleaded guilty to Friday to a felony charge of failure to stop at an accident causing death.

Sentencing is set for March 5.
