-Snow showers through the day
-Snow will be spotty
-More weekend snow
-Brief warm-up over the weekend
That’s a lot of snow:
Yesterday’s 2.4 inches of snow pushed Indianapolis over the 20 inch mark for the month (20.6”). That’s only the 7th time ever that Indianapolis has seen more than 20 inches and 13th time ever for any month of the year. At this point this month could go down as a top 5 overall snowiest month ever for the city. We need less than 2 inches of snow in order to get there and at this point that looks likely to occur this weekend. For the month we have seen 20.6 inches of snow.
High temperatures will be reached this morning with temperatures plummeting to single digits by tomorrow morning. Most of the day will see temperatures near 20 degrees today with snow showers likely off and on throughout the day. An upper low will continue to track to our east and as it does it will bring with it those snow showers we are expecting.
The weekend won’t be as cold as today with another round of snow possible. Saturday will start off with lows down in single digits. We will see temps warm up to the upper 20s late with snow chances arriving as well. New snow totals will range from 1 – 3 inches. Snow will continue through Sunday morning with Sunday’s high the warmest of the next 7 days.
Cold remains in place with snow possible on every day. Frigid Arctic air is set to move in on Tuesday with highs in the mid-teens. Temperatures could potentially fall to below zero on Wednesday and Thursday. Highs on those days will also be in the teens.
