Woman was on cocaine, other drugs during crash resulting in husband’s death

GREENFIELD, Ind. (Jan. 16, 2014)– A Hancock County woman is now facing charges after being accused of killing her husband while under the influence of drugs.

Rebecca Garner was arrested Wednesday and charged Friday with operating while under the influence and operating while under the influence causing death.

Blood tests confirm Garner was under the influence of cocaine and several other drugs when she ran through a stop sign at State Rd. 234 and Meridian Rd in Hancock County in August of 2013.

Garner’s husband, Chad Garner, had a heart attack and died in the crash.
