INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 17. 2014) — Roads in and around Indianapolis are slick Friday morning after snow fell overnight. Police and medics responded to a car that flipped over into a ditch on Shadeland Avenue at about 6:30 a.m.

Crews got the driver out of the car and took him to the hospital. They said the man was able to walk on his own to the ambulance but couldn’t remember how he ended up in the ditch.

Spotty snow showers are expected to continue throughout Friday with about an inch of snowfall possible.

INDOT and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works continue to remind drivers to leave plow drivers and street crews plenty of room and to slow down.

Lesley Gordon with DPW said the crews were prepared for a challenging Friday morning commute.

Several Central Indiana school districts are delaying the start of school Friday and some districts have closed.
