Whitestown official arrested on drunken driving charge

BOONE COUNTY (Jan. 17, 2014) – A member of the Whitestown Town Council was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Thursday morning.

Dawn Semmler, 42, Lebanon, was arrested around 1 a.m. Thursday after a Whitestown police officer pulled her over for a traffic violation at Indiana 267 and Perry Boulevard. The officer requested help from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office after realizing Semmler was a town official.

Semmler was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. She tested at 0.11 percent during a breath test and was booked at the Boone County Jail.

She’s due in court Tuesday afternoon.
