Arrest made in connection with Shelbyville burglaries

SHELBYVILLE, Indiana (Jan. 18, 2014) — Shelbyville Police have made an arrest in a string of burglaries in the Shelbyville area.

On Friday, January 17, 2014 Travis Kent was charged with 16 counts of burglary, 17 counts of theft and 1 count of possession of methamphetamine.

The department was able to serve a warrant for a narcotics search at a residence in the 200 block of East Hendricks Street on Saturday.

Police were able to recover some of the stolen items, including a laptop from a previous burglary.

Officials ask that if anyone has information about the burglaries, to contact the Shelbyville Police Department.
