INDIANAPOLIS – Owners of a Central Indiana business are hoping someone will recognize two men who were caught on surveillance video breaking into their restaurant and stealing thousands of dollars.

“They were on a mission,” said Bridget South, co-owner of G.T. South’s Rib House on East 71st.

She said around 11:30 pm Sunday, two men broke through the metal back door and came into the restaurant.

“It was bent completely like almost in half,” she explained. “The first guy walks in and turns and looks directly at that camera up there and you can see the top part of his face.”

The second man can be seen in the surveillance video head straight for the office.

“He had a flashlight, went directly down here which is where the safe was and started trying to get into it.”

You can see the man struggle with the safe in this video before he finally throws it to the ground and pushed it outside.

They stole $7,000 in cash.

Then the same man came back into the office to destroy the surveillance system.

“(He) looked up and thought that that was a security system,” South said pointing to an old monitor. “(He) knocked that down on the ground. Turned around realized that he was still on camera, jimmied that and that’s where we lost footage.”

They didn’t lose the footage already recorded. Now the owners hope someone will recognize these men and turn them in.

“They may as well have broken into my home, because I feel totally violated,” she said.
