The cold has arrived. Temperatures this morning have fallen below zero in several places and this bitterly cold weather is set to remain in place through the end of the month. We may not see temps above 32 degrees until the calendar hits February. On top of it all more snow is in the forecast for tonight.
This has certainly been a January to remember with the average temperature more than five degrees colder than the historical average for this time of the month. It’s also the third snowiest January ever right now for the city.
Highs today will top out near 20 degrees. Expect to see a light dusting to minor accumulations tonight as a clipper low passes by. We expect to wake up to sub zero temperatures every morning through Friday. Afternoon highs through Friday will vary from near 20 degrees today and Friday to only single digits expected for highs on Thursday.
Saturday may be slightly warmer with us forecasting a high of 27 degrees. There will be a chance for snow on Saturday. Back to highs in the teens for Sunday with another chance for snow on Monday and an expected high of only 14 degrees. Tuesday may be the coldest of the week with a high of just 4 degrees.
