Purdue gives ‘all clear’ after shots reported at student housing

UPDATE (8:48 p.m.)– Purdue University gives the “all clear” after investigating reports of shots fired at a student housing area.  Purdue police says the report was unfounded after searching the area and knocking on doors.

The scare comes after a student was fatally shot on campus Tuesday afternoon. Read FOX 59’s coverage on that shooting here.

UPDATE (8:40 p.m.)– Purdue University’s student newspaper reports Purdue Village management reports the shots were a false alarm.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (8:28 p.m.)—Police are investigating reports of gunshots fired at a student housing area at Purdue University Wednesday night.

The university tweeted the shots were fired in the area of Purdue Village Building 139 around 8:13 p.m.
