SPEEDWAY, Ind.—The Speedway Police Department launched a homicide investigation after a male was found shot to death outside an apartment complex Wednesday night.

Police told FOX 59 just before 7 p.m. they got multiple calls of shots fired at the International Village Apartments in Speedway, just off High School Road near I-465.

Investigators said they found a person dead in the parking lot, with a pair of gunshot wounds to the chest. Police aren’t sure of his identity, so they don’t know whether he is a resident of the complex or not.

Police said they had difficulty processing the scene because of howling winds and blowing snow.

Speedway Police wouldn’t confirm or deny whether any witnesses saw the shooting. They ask anyone with information to call them at 244-9543 or Indy Crimestoppers at 232-TIPS.
