WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ind. (Jan. 30, 2014)– One person aboard a Wayne Township ambulance is dead after a car hit it and caused an accident.

Just after 4 p.m. Thursday, an ambulance with a person going through cardiac arrest was struck at W. 11th St & N. Senate Ave. An SUV “t-boned” the ambulance.

The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital where care was continued. The patient received continued care throughout. Unfortunately, the patient did not survive the cardiac arrest.

Two firefighters, one medic, and one EMT sustained minor injuries and were transported to Methodist Hospital.

Wayne Township crews involved in the accident continued care following the accident until the other ambulance and IFD arrived.

FOX59 crews are headed to the scene. Updates will be provided as they become available.

This location is about two blocks north of an accident involving an ambulance last year where a paramedic and EMT died.
