Two people killed in overnight shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 1, 2014) — Police say two men are dead after a shooting in the 3400 block of N. Hovey Street. IMPD responded to several reports of shots fired around 1:30 a.m., Saturday.

Officers found one man inside a truck and another lying on the ground near the vehicle. Both men had been shot and both were pronounced dead at the scene. The men have been identified as 22-year-old Carlos Jefferson and 23-year-old Julius Douglas, both of Indianapolis.

Detectives do no yet have a motive. However, they do not believe this was a random shooting. Police suspect narcotics may be involved.
