Man arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Ind. (Feb. 8, 2014) — Westfield Police were called to the 1800 block of west State Road 32 on a sexual assault involving a juvenile female.

When police arrived on scene around 2:30 Saturday afternoon, the suspect had fled the scene on foot.

Westfield police and the Hamilton County K9 team tracked the suspect to the area of 161st and Springmill Rd, where the track ended.

Just after 8 p.m. Saturday officers were called to the area of 161st and Springmill road in regards to a welfare check.

The caller said a white male at a coffee shop in the area had nowhere to go and needed assistance.

When police arrived, they identified the man as the suspect in the earlier sexual assault, Jason Moore.

Moore was transported to the police department where he was questioned by detectives.

He was arrested on three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of conversion, and one count of false informing.
